Location: NYC Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics, Lower East Side, Manhattan

Are you interested in aeronautics, astronomy, robotics, 3D printing, and enjoy working with kids? Then the Aerospace Internship is for you! The NYC Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics (NYCCAAM) is looking for responsible, motivated, and energetic high school students to participate in an exciting internship opportunity. Aerospace Interns will work with elementary and middle school Aerospace campers using LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robotic kits, flight simulators, and 3D design software. Interns will immerse themselves in all aspects of camp, working side-by-side with the NYC Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics' team helping to engage campers in learning and exploration. Interns will create and complete a culminating project at the end of their internship and receive a certificate acknowledging and verifying their contributions to NYCCAAM at the conclusion of the internship. Interns are provided a daily MetroCard for travel to and from NYCCAAM.

  • Program A: Monday-Friday from Monday, July 6-Friday, July 17, 2020
  • Program B: Monday-Friday from Monday, July 20-Friday, July 31, 2020
  • Program C: Monday-Friday from Monday, July 6-Friday, July 31, 2020

Times for all programs: 9:00am-3:00pm

If your application is received by March 27 and you are selected as a finalist, you may be invited for an interview at NYCCAAM during spring break. Finalists whose applications are received after March 27, or those who cannot interview during spring break, may be invited for an interview on an alternate date in late April. Interviews are by appointment ONLY.

  • Interview dates: April 13-17, 2020
  • Alternate interview dates for finalists not available during spring break: Late April before or after school

Intern Orientation: Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 9:00am-3:00pm
