Digital Storytellers

How are stories told in a digital world? Come find out during this week-long intensive at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Work firsthand with experts from Adobe to explore the suite of programs in the Adobe Creative Cloud and build digital literacy skills. From vector illustrations to bitmaps (photography) to time-based media (animation/video), young designers will learn how to use these tools to tell their own compelling story!

Earth Climate Institute

Location: NYC Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics, Manhattan, NY

Dates: Monday, July 29-Friday, August 2, 2019

Are you interested in exploring climate change through the lens of NASA’s Earth Observing System? Join NYC Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics (NYCCAAM) for the week-long Earth Climate Institute. Discover how remote sensing works, learn how the Earth Observing System satellites collect the data, and use computer programs to investigate the meaning of the data. Meet with NASA scientists to hear about their current research and learn about careers at NASA. On the final day, take a simulated mission to the International Space Station where a developing crisis in Earth's orbit will put everything you have learned throughout the week to the test.

Tech Scholars

Calling all female-identifying high school students who love technology and history! Do you want to gain hands-on HTML and CSS training in the brand new Tech Commons @ New-York Historical Society? Become a Tech Scholar! During this week-long intensive, scholars will gain skills in coding and historical inquiry, design and launch their own web-based projects, and meet professional mentors from across industries. At the end of the week, Scholars will have a custom site to present to their mentors, friends, and families!
