Kids Action Team: Reflection

A service-learning after school program for students in grades K-5

Reflection (ongoing throughout)

All throughout the service-learning experience, students should engage in reflection. Reflection is a regular pause with a focus on student feelings. Reflection is ongoing, and occurs as a considered summation of thoughts and feeling regarding essential questions and varied experience to inform content knowledge, increase self awareness, and assist in ongoing planning. When students have varying modalities for reflection, they grown to identify their preferred ways to reflect and value the reflective process. This leads to students becoming reflective by choice.

Check out these resources and ideas for conducting reflection before, during, and after service activities.
