Explore the 1-week camps for students entering grade 1 in September. All programs take place Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day.

Adventures in Nature

Location: Prospect Park Zoo in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn

Dates: Monday, July 27-Friday, July 31, 2020

Learn about your animal neighbors living right here in NYC! Each day campers will explore a different element (earth, air, fire, water) and learn about it's associated animals. Use field guides to identify new animals in our environment and utilize the Zoo’s collection as a resource to learn about animal adaptations. On day 5, we'll put it all together and focus on tropical rainforests where birds, reptiles, large land-dwelling mammals and marine wildlife all survive in distinct and different ways!


Dr. Zoo's Health Center

Location: Bronx Zoo in Bronx Park, Bronx

Dates: Monday, July 27-Friday, July 31, 2020

Calling all young veterinarians, Dr. Zoo needs your help! Come meet Dr. Zoo and learn from our knowledgeable camp staff about how zoos keep their animals healthy during this fun week. Your camper will visit exhibits, meet animals up-close, and engage in activities that demonstrate how our veterinarians examine, diagnose, and treat our animal patients!

Plants, Animals, & Me!

Location: Genovesi Environmental Study Center in Bergen Beach, Brooklyn

Dates: Monday, July 6-Friday, July 10, 2020 

Did you know plants, animals, and people depend on each other in many ways? Campers will discover and explore these relationships through hands-on activities, art projects, and animal encounters. Throughout this exciting week, campers will learn about plant parts by tending to the garden, harvesting plants for their own snacks, and even feeding garden bites to ESC animals!

Week of Wildlife

Location: Central Park Zoo in Midtown, Manhattan

Dates: Monday, July 13-Friday, July 17, 2020

Discover the diversity of the animal kingdom at the Central Park Zoo! Week of Wildlife camp will focus on exploring the Zoo and investigating animals around the world. Adventures and mystery will lead your camper through habitats and biomes, meeting animals along the way. Hands-on activities, Zoo expeditions, and animal guests help guide our discoveries every day.


Location: NY Aquarium in Coney Island, Brooklyn

Dates: Monday, July 6-Friday, July 10, 2020

Become a scientist and an artist in AquariArt! Each day, we will use a different medium inspired by the ocean to create nature-based works of art, from seaweed pressings to sand sculptures. Join us as we explore the Coney Island beach, meet our animal ambassadors, and discover new ways to make art.

Junior Guardians of the Garden

Location: Queens Botanical Garden, Flushing, Queens​

Our city is overflowing with curious natural wonders for you to explore at Queens Botanical Garden! Join our Guardians of the Garden camp and become one of nature’s superheroes. Investigate what's blooming and buzzing this season and enjoy art projects and games, all inspired by our collections and landscapes.

Snug Harbor Scientists

Location: Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden in Randall Manor, Staten Island

Dates: Monday, August 10-Friday, August 14, 2020

Interested in exploring new environments? Want to learn how organisms survive and thrive and discover what life sciences can teach us? Join Snug Harbor for educational games, singing and dancing, read alouds, immersive exploration, and art play. Campers will learn what needs we all have in common and the importance of diversity. By the end of the week, campers will have explored life in multiple biomes, including a farm, wetlands, a meadow, and a forest.

Wild Adaptations

Location: Queens Zoo in Corona, Queens

Dates: Monday, July 27-Friday, July 31, 2020

Let's explore what it takes to survive out in the wild! Just like us, animals need shelter, food, and water to survive. Every animal plays an important role in the web of life! We will hide like prey, hunt like predators, search for special adaptations of animals in the zoo and so much more this week!
