Do you want to be an astronaut? Join the NYC Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics (NYCCAAM) for a week of astronaut and pilot training! Explore flight simulators in the NASA Aerospace Education Lab, construct and launch rockets, design in the 3D printing lab, and build and program Mars rovers with SPIKE Prime LEGO robots. During this action-packed week, simulate astronaut training and learn about the history of space exploration to prepare for your ultimate mission: a simulated space adventure.

Spend a week learning about how design, fashion, and technology intersect! Did you know there are sustainable clothing manufacturing companies right here in Brooklyn? Visit the FABSCRAP fabric recycling facility, and the biotech fashion company, Algiknit. Learn traditional sewing techniques and discover wearable tech, 3D printing, and laser cutting technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a portfolio of sketches, mood boards, and clothing and accessories while learning about career pathways in fashion, textile design, and manufacturing.

Explore Governors Island and its waterfront through hands-on, scientific investigations, harbor-inspired art projects, and water-based activities. Meet lots of organisms from the local ecosystem, learn to identify oysters and other local animals, enjoy time by the water, and learn about maritime careers in New York City. Caregivers are invited to join the group on Friday for a unique “shellebration!"

Spend a week at New-York Historical Society to explore the historic institutions and heroic people that helped make New York City a vibrant metropolis, and those who keep it a functioning home for nearly 9 million people today. From the water in our pipes, to the roads we drive on, to the sanitation workers that come right to our curbs, it takes a lot of work to keep this city going! Learn about New York City history and the creation of the systems we interact with everyday, but might never notice. Participate in hands-on activities, get up close and personal with archival materials, meet living history reenactors, and create a "Then and Now" photo journal of New York City to commemorate everything learned throughout the week.
