Teens Advocating for Change

Teens Advocating for Change (TAC) is a virtual program for students in grades 10-12 who are interested in making a difference in their community. As part of the program, students will attend live virtual sessions, working in groups to investigate a community need: housing, accessibility, LGBTQIA+ rights, or fast fashionGroups will research policy surrounding the issue and develop an advocacy campaign to raise awareness and promote action.

Participating students will receive an introduction to the community need and be guided through project research and development. They will also have an opportunity to connect with stakeholders from community-based organizations to learn from an expert in the field. After completing research, students will launch an advocacy campaign targeting an authentic audience, and share their work at a program showcase. Finally, TAC students will have the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, reflect on their experience in the program, and brainstorm ways to continue to support their community.
